Montrose Animal Protection Agency
Our Mission:
The Montrose Animal Protection Agency(MAPA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the welfare of companion animals through public education, and to reducing the number of unwanted animals by encouraging the spaying/neutering of dog and cat pets.
MAPA is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to animal welfare. Our focus has been two-fold: spay/neuter vouchers for Montrose area resident’s pets, and educational opportunities for the community.
As a non-profit agency all funds are based on personal and business contributions, grants and fundraisers. Donations are always needed!
At the city of Montrose’s request, MAPA undertook a fundraising project in 2004 to raise $50,000 to help expand and improve the Montrose Animal Shelter. Through the generosity of both individuals and businesses
in the city and county, MAPA successfully reached its goal!
M.A.P.A. meets the third Tuesday of every month. In the winder, meetings take place at the Montrose Library located at 320 South Second Street (on the corner of South Townsend and South Second). In the summer, meetings take place in the conference room at the Montrose Animal Shelter.
Guests, new members and new volunteers are always welcome!
